Milla spent her childhood in London and Russia until her whole family migrated to California. At age 9, she started out acting and at age 11, she began modeling. Her first project was for Lei, an Italian magazine. When she was 12, Milla already had 15 magazine covers under her belt and did several photo shoots for famous brands. In 1998, she decided to venture into acting and had her first two movies entitled "The Night Train to Katmandu" and "Two Moon Junction." Then she went into a modeling barrage when she stormed the catwalk by being the face of brands such as Escape and Calvin Klein. At 16, she was already married to actor Shawn Andrews, known to be five years older than her; that marriage only lasted for two months. Following her quite controversial personal life were equally hectic projects. A year later after the end of her marriage, she released an initial album known as “The Divine Comedy," which was well appreciated by the public. She also became known for the film "The Fifth Element," wherein she starred with Bruce Willis. Her other movies include "Joan of Arc," Kingdom Come," "The Million Dollar Hotel," and "Ultraviolet."
